Description

New album released january 2012!Tram des Balkans : 5 hyper-dynamic singer-musicians, travelling through the land of Shtirip’. Its capital TushTush Brassaïet is situated at the crossroads between the cabarets of Prague, the Irish trad scene and the taverns of East Germany, where you'll find remnants of the Jewish diaspora, 21st Century Western atheists, Bulgarian Romanies and their North African neighbours. A land where wild emotions reign and where the only language is polyphonic madness.

Biography

Tram des Balkans hit the tracks for the first time in 2002 with Lyon, France as the starting point for their adventure. Setting out initially with a Klezmer repertoire, they rapidly moved towards compositions that abandoned all limits, since Celtic and African influences, as well as a panoply of World sounds all got thrown into the pot! Vincent Westphal (clarinet), Diego Meymarian (violin), Vincent Gaffet (accordion) and the then double bassist, Johan Jacquemoud put out a 5-track EP in 2005. With the percussionnist Mathieu Cervera coming on board in 2006 followed by Sylvain Lacombe (new double bassist) in 2007, Tram's recording adventures went LIVE with "Shtirip’ Tour" recorded over several gigs in France in late 2007. Released independently in February 2008 with national distribution as of October, the album captures all the energy and feel-good humour of this multi-facetted band.
