Biography

In English, the name of the band is “A Thousand Monarchs”. This name captures both the regal range and eclecticism of their music. So, if ever, in a dream, you've had a vision of those numerous nabob kings* of the ancient Far East of A Thousand and One Nights, or perhaps of the legion of Kings of Rennaissance France; and then, a vision as well of a mirror turned skyward in which the reflection of their honour would meet, many years hence, the equally regal bearing of their volatile, winged namesakes (that one sees sometimes wandering in the clouds and that, one says, are dependent upon the climates of the places to where they migrate), then perhaps you would also hear, in the distance, a mirage of sound, a siren song which would engrave the impression of Mille Monarques forever in your unconscious …. It was in 2007, that this prophecy came true for Mille Monarques and they succeeded in burning, with material support that time, three songs, three mirages born of this vision. The result is an happy Electro-Organic mix which recalls the instinctive temper of New Wave while merging into the present-day carnival of Indie rock.
